RE509672 Engine Oil Filter Element
- The engine oil filter is an essential component of the lubrication and filtration system in John Deere engines. It helps maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the engine by removing contaminants from the oil.
- Flow Rate: 2.1 liter/sec
- Filter Type: Outs-In-Flow
- Outer Diameter: 120.904 mm
- Length: 132.08 mm
- Glass-filled Nylon Endcaps: These endcaps provide added strength and durability, ensuring a longer-lasting and more reliable filter
- Even, Consistent Pleat Spacing: The oil filter has even and consistent pleat spacing, which maximizes the use of the media surface, resulting in increased filtering capacity and better overall protection for your engine
- Pleats for Increased Efficiency: With 86 pleats, the filter ensures increased efficiency and particle removal, keeping your engine clean and well-maintained
- Meets John Deere Extended Service Intervals: The filter meets John Deere's extended service intervals, which means lower maintenance costs and less frequent filter replacements
- Includes: R522685 - Oil Filter O-Ring
| Weight | 0.437 lb | Length | 5.8 in |
| Height | 4.8 in | Outer Diameter | 120.904 mm |
| Interface type | Built-in (Requires matching filter housing, Non-independent filter element. It needs to be assembled and used together with the original factory filter housing.) | ||
| Filter area | approx. 380 cm², Meet the oil circulation requirements of a 6-cylinder engine (with an engine displacement of 6-9 liters) | ||
| Recommended replacement cycle | 150-250 hours, In environments with high levels of dust and heavy loads, the cycle needs to be shortened (such as during the silage harvest season) | ||
| Replacement part number | RE504896, RE528176, HF6505 (Third Party), It can be interchanged with the same specification oil filter of John Deere. For third-party compatible models, the filtration efficiency needs to be confirmed. | ||

- Installation Compatibility Verification: RE509672 is a “filter element” (not a complete filter with an integrated housing). Before installation, verify the model of the original oil filter housing on the equipment (e.g., John Deere RE504895 housing) to prevent seal failure due to mismatched filter elements and housings.
- Replacement Procedure: Before removing the old element, relieve oil pressure (e.g., wait 10 minutes after shutdown). Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the element's sealing gasket before installation to ensure a tight seal. When reassembling the housing, tighten to the torque specified in the equipment manual (typically 25-30 N·m). Over-tightening may deform the housing, while under-tightening may cause leaks.
- Post-Replacement Inspection: Start the engine and idle for 2-3 minutes. Inspect the filter housing and connections for oil leaks. Simultaneously monitor the oil pressure gauge (or indicator light) to confirm pressure stabilizes within the normal range (typically 30-60 psi for medium-heavy duty engines) with no low-pressure warnings.
